Financial Literacy 30

In Financial Literacy 30 students will create an informed personal budget by understanding budgeting fundamentals. Students will learn the importance of decision making as it applies to finances, information security, maintaining accurate financial records and the concept of interest.

What Will I Learn?

The seven areas students will learn about are:

  • earning

  • saving

  • spending

  • borrowing

  • sharing

  • investing

  • protecting

Complex financial issues and decisions will be addressed, while highlighting other situations students are likely to face within their first few years of leaving high school.

Topics such as home ownership, debt management, purchasing and leasing property including vehicles, and planning for the future (education and retirement) will also be covered, all of which are part of the lifelong financial journey.
