Take a High School Course With Sask DLC

Sask DLC can help you get ahead, catch up, graduate early, take courses not offered at your local school or gain flexibility in your schedule for extracurricular activities.

We'll work with your local school to provide you with access to more than 150 high school course options that give you the flexibility to navigate your schedule and help you meet your graduation goals.

Sask DLC courses are available to all Saskatchewan students and are taken alongside your regular school courses.

Enrolment for Grade 10-12 courses is open year-round and credits earned in Sask DLC courses will appear on your transcript and count toward your graduation requirements.

Your Choice In Learning

We understand that every student learns differently, which is why we offer two learning models for families to choose from:

Synchronous Live Class: Your child will attend scheduled live class sessions with their teacher throughout the day.

• Asynchronous (flexible learning): You and your child can choose the daily learning schedule that works for you, while following a structured course timeline.

Our teachers provide one-on-one support, live instruction, and an individualized learning experience. Whether choosing Synchronous Live Classes or Asynchronous learning, students will benefit from a safe, structured and flexible online education in a supportive environment.

How Does Sask DLC Work in your School?

Once you find a course that interests you, your school principal or guidance counsellor will enrol you in the course.

After enrolment, you'll gain access to your online courses and can start right away. If you're working from your school, simply go to the designated space in your school, log into DLCgo, and work on your course.

Your Sask DLC teacher will regularly check in with you and coordinate with the Online Learning Facilitator (OLF) at your school to help you stay on track. The OLF is there to assist you with exams and answer any questions you might have.

Our courses provide structured flexibility, meaning you will follow teacher-created timelines and submit assignments on schedule. However, you have the option to work ahead and complete courses early.

All of your assignments will be submitted to your Sask DLC teacher online. If you want to work on your course outside of school, you can access your course 24/7 (except for live synchronous classes). Each course you take will earn you a credit towards graduation.

Once you have completed your course, Sask DLC will submit your final mark to the Ministry of Education, so it appears on your official transcript.

If you are interested in supplementing your learning with a Sask DLC course, connect with your local school principal or guidance counsellor to see how an online course can support your graduation plan.

Is there a cost?

There is no direct cost to families for students under the age of 22 taking online courses with Sask DLC.

School divisions in Saskatchewan are provided with provincial funding for students living in the area. Students and families have the option to study online and school divisions are invoiced directly. This ensures that provincial funding provided to the school division follows the student, wherever they choose to learn.

What is the time commitment?

On average, you'll spend four to six hours per day on your course work but the time you need varies depending on your maturity, ability to focus, degree of independence and your personal goals.

You are encouraged to complete your work within set timelines provided by your teacher while having the option to work ahead if you choose. Courses follow a traditional 180-day school calendar from September to June.

What supports are in place for me?

Many Saskatchewan schools have a Sask DLC Online Learning Facilitator who is responsible for taking attendance, answering questions about our courses, supervising work placements, helping you stay on track and provide ongoing support.

Our teachers provide personalized instruction and one-on-one support via phone, email, and video calls from Monday – Friday, 8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
